Bait Productions takes a hit in Middle District of Florida
Bait Productions has 25 active cases in the Middle District of Florida against a total of 1,536 defendants. On Dec 14, a Report and Recommendation written by Magistrate Judge David A. Baker appeared on the dockets of these cases. The recommendation is that all Defendant John Does except for the first in each suit be severed:
Because it appears that the additional defendants have been improperly or imprudently joined in each of the 25 lawsuits, it is respectfully RECOMMENDED that in each case all defendants except the first named be dismissed with leave to file separate actions against as many of them as Plaintiff wishes to pursue, with a new filing fee to be paid for each action filed. It is further recommended that all Bait Production cases in the Middle District (pending and future) be assigned to a single District-Magistrate Judge pair to facilitate consistent case management.
